플레이잉키친 노트 이야기

Playing Kitchen Notes began around a morning table, after the children had left for school.

아이들을 학교에 보내고 난 오전, 주부들이 식탁에 둘러앉아 음식과 이야기를 나누던 시간에서 플레이잉키친 노트는 시작되었어요.

I had always loved cooking, setting a table, and sharing recipes with others. What began as small morning wine and cooking gatherings soon became a place where women could learn, talk, and enjoy food together.

평소 요리하고 식탁을 차리는 일을 좋아했구요. 제가 만든 음식을 나누고 서로의 레시피를 이야기하는 시간도 참 좋아했어요. 작게 시작한 오전 와인 클래스와 요리 모임은 어느새 음식과 일상을 함께 나누는 따뜻한 공간이 되었답니다.

From a Shared Table to Food Creating

작은 식탁에서 푸드 크리에이팅으로

Those gatherings were not simply about wine. They were about creating a table where people could slow down, cook together, and share the stories of their everyday lives.

그 모임에서 와인은 가장 중요한 주제가 아니었어요.

음식을 함께 만들고, 식탁에 둘러앉아 이야기를 나나고 바쁜 일상 속에서 잠시 쉬어가는 것. 그 시간이 더 중요하지요.

Through these classes, I began developing recipes, planning menus, styling tables, and creating food content. This experience eventually grew into a wider journey of food creating and kitchen design.

클래스를 이어가며 레시피를 만들고, 메뉴를 구성하고.음식을 아름답게 담는 일을 자연스럽게 시작하게 되었어요. 이 경험은 이후 푸드 크리에이팅과 주방 제품 디자인으로까지 이어졌답니다.

A Life Shaped by Art, Textiles and the Kitchen

미술과 섬유, 그리고 주방

My background in art and textiles has always influenced the way I see food and the kitchen. I believe that a meal is shaped not only by taste, but also by color, texture, light, tableware, and the atmosphere surrounding it.

미술과 섬유를 공부한 경험은 제가 음식과 주방을 바라보는 방식에도 많은 영향을 주었어요.

음식은 맛만으로 완성되는 것이 아니라 색과 질감, 그릇과 패브릭, 빛과 식탁의 분위기가 함께 어우러질 때
더 아름다워진다고 생각해요.

That perspective led me to design and produce handmade linen aprons and kitchen textiles under my kitchen lifestyle brand, Playing Kitchen.

이러한 생각을 바탕으로 키친 라이프스타일 브랜드 플레잉키친을 운영하며, 직접 디자인한 린넨 에이프런과 다양한 키친 패브릭 제품을 제작해 왔답니다.

One of my most memorable moments was hearing that artist Eva Armisén liked one of my aprons.

화가 에바 알마슨이 제가 만든 에이프런을 좋아한다는
이야기를 들었던 순간은 오랫동안 기억에 남는 특별한 경험이예요.

플레이잉키친 노트는 한식 레시피에만 머무르지 않아요.

Here, I share the food I actually cook and enjoy at home—from Korean home cooking to Asian dishes, easy global meals, and ideas for pairing food with wine, makgeolli, soju, and other drinks.

한국 집밥부터 중식과 일식, 간단한 양식과 세계 여러 나라의 가정식까지 제가 실제로 만들고 가족과 함께 먹는 음식을 소개합니다.

와인과 식사, 막걸리와 한식, 소주와 안주처럼 음식과 술을 자연스럽게 즐기는 페어링 이야기도 함께 나누어요.

You will also find stories about Korean food culture, ingredients, kitchen appliances, cookware, tableware, food storage, refrigerator organization, and the practical details of everyday kitchen life.

한국의 식문화와 식재료, 냄비와 칼, 그릇과 식기, 주방가전과 조리도구, 식재료 보관법과 냉장고 정리처럼 요리와 연결된 실제 주방생활의 이야기도 차근차근 기록할 예정입니다.
